Things I've learnt this trip

1. Don't believe in everything your tour guide tells you.
2. Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world, but it doesn't have more sand than Sahara Desert.
3. The water in Lake McKenzies is not as blue as it looks in the advertisements. It is very clear, however, because of its slight acidity - so there are not a lot of inhabitants in it.
4. The best way to walk up a sand dune is to stick your toes in first.
5. There is so much to explore, enjoy and appreciate in the nature with beauty everywhere if we just keep our eyes out for it!

All in all, this trip was much more fun than I expected, especially after the horrifying experience we had last time with the cyclone. We got to see and do a lot, and yet it wasn't too hectic. We were given enough time at each spot to do what we wanted to do and appreciate the beauty of the scenery and the nature. And without the worry of being stuck in the sand in our 4WD, we can fully enjoy all the activities stress-free! I really should give credits to our wonderful tour guide, Peter, who's very experienced and knowledgable, and really went out of his way to make this trip very special for us (as you can see in the "Indiana Jones" video in one of the links below). We felt really lucky to have him as our guide. I would recommend this tour (it's called the Cool Dingo Tour offered by Kingfisher Bay) to anyone who is (or feels like they are) between 18 to 35. You won't regret it!
