When we are shoebeating we are using the energy of the Mother Earth to clear personal or collective negativity. It is a very effective treatment. The Mother Earth is a living conscious energy or emanation of the Divine Power which has the qualities of the ‘Mooladhara chakra’. For this reason we must begin by humbly requesting the Mother Earth to help us. This can be done by placing both hands on the earth and saying the mantra to Shri Adi Bhoomi Devi. At this point you can also include a silent prayer in your heart and a meditation with your attention in the earth.

We begin shoebeating, as we do for all Sahaj treatments, by raising the kundalini and putting ourselves in Bandhan. Shoebeating can be used for all types of personal and collective problems. Shoebeating is one of the best ways to reduce the ego (by shoebeating “my ego”) and ridding yourself of negativity from false gurus (by shoebeating the name of the false guru or his/her organization). It should be remembered that in Sahaja Yoga we have no powers of hate only powers of love. When we shoebeat we are only removing the negativity from the individual or situation. There are certain things we should not shoebeat out of respect. We do not want to place our shoe on the name of our parents or on our spouse. Although you can make an exception if the negativity in the individual is particularly strong and is seriously harming the person or others. We must never shoebeat a name of the Divine or any of its manifestations. So for instance we should not showbeat anything with the name of Shri Mataji in it even if it is “our doubts in Shri Mataji” instead we can shoebeat “our doubts in the truth”. We should not showbeat the name of a chakra for instance “negativity in my Mooladhara” instead we can just shoebeat “my lust”. After the simple instructions there is a list of possible shoebeats to clear different chakras.

Shoebeating – Simple Instructions

1. Raise your kundalini and give yourself a bandhan.

2. Place both hands on the earth and say the mantra to Shri Adi Bhoomi Devi (the divine energy of the Mother Earth).

3. Draw a circle on the ground with the right hand and write in the circle whatever you are shoebeating (for instance “my ego”).

4. While shoebeating keep your attention on your Sahasrara and look at the sky.

5. Give some vibrations to the heel of your left shoe and then take the shoe with the right hand and tap within the circle with the heel of the shoe 108 times (you can do this by counting out 9 groups of 12).

6. After each shoebeat give vibrations to the area where you were shoebeating.

7. Repeat steps 3 to 6 to shoebeat as many things as you like.

8. To finish shoebeating give some more vibrations to the ground where you were shoebeating and to the heel of your left shoe and repeat steps 2 and 1 and then wash your hands.
